School readiness is also an available assessment for ages 4-5. Is your child prepared to sit in groups and participate? It is not only important that children know ABCs and 123s, colors, and shapes when they enter kindergarten now, but learning how to learn is an important skill. At this age children need to role play social interactions and work out adult scenarios within a safe environment. Play becomes more social, and the play and learning behaviors your child exhibits lets you know whether he is ready for school, even if he has attended preschool.
