Mission: To provide the highest quality behavioral intervention services with the utmost respect and integrity for children and their families.
Vision: To instill a passion for learning, enabling each child to reach his or her fullest potential.
Development occurs in a sequence. Although, some believe that pieces of the sequence can be skipped, the sequence is never mixed up. However, skipping pieces in the sequence can disturb overall development because all areas of development are open all the time, but some areas at certain, critical ages are widest open and need the most stimulation during those times in order for development to occur at its highest potential.
A developmental assessment can occur at any age, but the critical years are birth through age 3 to 5 years. The most critical brain growth occurs from birth to three years old, during which the child is accruing 700 new neural connections every second!
A developmental assessment can include the areas of Speech and Language, Fine Motor and Gross Motor, Social and Emotional Development, Behavior, and Cognition.
For older children, academic achievement gives insights into many of these areas of development and can measure your child's success by taking a look at learning behaviors, processing, organization skills, and general mental ability.
The BCBA and BCBA-D are independent practitioners who also may work as employees or independent contractors for an organization. The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results. The BCBA designs and supervises behavior analytic interventions. The BCBA is able to effectively develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods for use in unfamiliar situations and for a range of cases. The BCBA seeks the consultation of more experienced practitioners when necessary. The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. BCBAs supervise the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts and others who implement behavior analytic interventions.
